Loll Designs, a leading manufacturer of sustainable outdoor furniture, will help lead the 18th annual Clean Yer Creek event on May 2. Now at its largest footprint to date, this year’s event expands to include Kingsbury Creek, bringing the total to six waterways across Duluth.
Organizers anticipate the largest turnout yet, with more than 100 volunteers at each creek location, building on the strong momentum of 2025 when more than 450 volunteers removed more than 7,140 pounds (3.5 tons) of trash from local creeks feeding into Lake Superior. In partnership with local businesses such as Chester Bowl Improvement Club, Wild State Cider, Lake Superior Brewing and Bent Paddle Brewing, volunteers will come together to clean and restore these vital creeks. These efforts play a critical role in improving water quality, protecting wildlife habitats, and supporting the health of the region’s watershed.
“Clean Yer Creek is the realization of our strong belief that every one of us has the power to make a positive impact on our planet and that doing good can be fun at the same time,” says Brian King, Brand + Marketing Director for Loll Designs. “Everyday decisions to recycle instead of throw away, to reduce waste, to compost, and to get out and act are amplified when we all come together, and our team looks forward to contributing to this event each year.”
The Loll Designs team, with neighbors, family and friends, will begin at their company headquarters (5912 Waseca St.) to access Keene Creek, removing debris, combating illegal dumping, and restoring natural creek environments. Reflecting Loll’s broader mission to inspire appreciation for the outdoors while taking direct action to protect it, Clean Yer Creek has grown into one of Duluth’s most impactful community-driven sustainability initiatives.
Creek cleanups will take place from 10 am-1 pm, followed by community gatherings at partner locations including the Lake Superior Zoo, Wild State Cider, Bent Paddle Brewing and Lake Superior Brewing.
Early registered participants will receive event perks such as a commemorative t-shirt and a complimentary beer or beverage, creating an opportunity for volunteers to connect and celebrate their collective impact.
