Chamber Welcomes Interim President Jim Roche

The Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Jim Roche as Interim President.

Jim recently retired as president of the Maine Bankers Association, a position he held since 2021. Prior to his time with the Maine Bankers Association, Jim served as president of the Business & Industry Association of New Hampshire — New Hampshire’s statewide chamber of commerce — for nearly 17 years. He also led a regional chamber of commerce in upstate New York, and worked in economic development, marketing/communications and public policy in Minnesota.

Jim is originally from Minneapolis and has a longstanding connection to Duluth. He attended UMD for two years before completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He lived in Duluth for seven years after college and has maintained a condominium here for the past 10 years. His sister (one of nine siblings) and brother-in-law live on Park Point, along with four of their six adult children (Jim’s nieces and nephews).

Jim is excited to return to the Duluth business community. The chamber board and staff look forward to benefiting from his experience and leadership to help guide the Chamber until a permanent president is selected.

Please join us in welcoming Jim to the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce!
