“I have worked in finance for several years, am based in Duluth and have been deeply involved in the community through various volunteer opportunities over the years,” said Lauren Farden, current President of the Junior League of Duluth. “What initially drew me to the Junior League was its mission of empowering women and strengthening our community – a legacy the Junior League has upheld for over 100 years.”
“The Junior League of Duluth serves the Twin Ports community by providing financial support to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations,” Farden said. “Our primary focus is on initiatives that promote and strengthen the well-being of women and children. Last year, we supported projects in areas such as education, holistic health, physical fitness, positive self-image, parenting, food insecurity and overall wellness.”
“Some of my proudest moments with the Junior League revolve around personal growth and our shared accomplishments,” Farden said. “One standout experience was being part of this year’s successful Festival of Trees. It not only raised significant funds for our community grants, but also highlighted the incredible teamwork and dedication of our members.”
“The future of the Junior League of Duluth is focused on growth, recovery and exciting new opportunities,” Farden said. “One exciting milestone is welcoming our next President, Addie Trettel, who will be the first woman of color to lead the League. Her leadership marks an important chapter for us, and I’m thrilled to see the new ideas and direction she will bring to our organization.”
“One of the most rewarding aspects of being part of the Junior League is the incredible women you’ll meet,” Farden enthused. “They are passionate, driven and dedicated. Despite their busy lives, they always make time to support and connect with fellow women who share a common vision.”
