Join the first graduating class in the academy’s history as they celebrate a monumental milestone for Catholic education in the region. Stella Maris Academy will host its inaugural high school commencement ceremony Wednesday, May 27, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, marking a historic achievement long-worked for by the local community.
This momentous event honors the definitive return of Catholic high school education to Duluth, completing a visionary journey that began ten years ago. As the first-ever graduating class at Stella Maris Academy, these seniors have trailblazed a path for future generations, guiding the academy’s profound growth from its inception to a projected enrollment of nearly 750 students across all campuses for the upcoming school year.
The historic evening will begin with a celebration of the Holy Mass, followed immediately by the formal graduation ceremony. Demonstrating the national and regional significance of this milestone, special distinguished guests will be in attendance to address and honor the graduates, including Bishop Daniel Felton of the Diocese of Duluth and Dr. Cheeseman, President of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA).
