Aspirus Lake View Recognized for 2nd Consecutive Year as a Top Critical Access Hospital

TWO HARBORS, Minn. – Aspirus Lake View (ALV) is proud to be named one of the top 20 critical access hospitals (CAHs) in the country for patient satisfaction for the second year in a row. There are more than 1,350 CAHs in the United States.

The recognition places ALV among the top 1.5 percent of CAHs nationwide. Rankings are determined by the Chartis Center for Rural Health using data from its Rural Health Performance INDEX and are announced by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA).

“Earning this recognition for a second consecutive year reflects the consistency of our team’s commitment to patient-centered care,” said ALV President Greg Ruberg. “We focus on supporting our staff so they can deliver the highest level of care, and this honor reinforces the impact of that approach in our community.”

The top CAHs have achieved success in overall performance based on a composite rating of eight indices of strength. Those include inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and finance.

The Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX is the foundation for many of rural health care’s most prominent awards and is used by organizations like the NRHA in support of advocacy and legislative initiatives.
