Historic Duluth Venue Expands Focus on Events, Weddings, Entertainment and Community Gatherings

One of Duluth’s most recognizable gathering places is entering a new chapter.

Beginning Oct. 11, Clyde Iron Works will officially transition away from regular public restaurant and brewery operations as the business sharpens its focus on what has increasingly become its strongest area of growth: events.

As part of this evolution, the venue is expanding its brand as Clyde Iron Events & Weddings, and focusing on hosting weddings, concerts, galas, corporate events, fundraisers, community celebrations and live entertainment in Duluth seven days of the week.

For years, Clyde has served as both a restaurant and event destination. As customer preferences and market conditions continue to evolve, the organization has made the strategic decision to focus its energy and resources on creating exceptional event experiences while preserving the historic character that has made Clyde a local landmark.

“We’ve seen greater demand for larger events over the past several years,” said Alex Giuliani, owner of Clyde Iron Events & Weddings. “This transition allows us to invest more heavily in the experiences people are seeking today. Weddings, live music, fundraisers, corporate gatherings, community celebrations, that’s where we’re seeing growth, and we’re excited to build on that momentum.”

The change comes as Clyde prepares to bring back many of the experiences guests have come to love, including an expanded calendar of live music, larger community events, private celebrations, wedding receptions, galas and special gatherings throughout the year.

“Over the years, we’ve seen greater demand for larger and more diverse spaces. To meet that demand for events and weddings, we are shifting from a dine-in restaurant to a gathering place for events and weddings from 20 people to 2,000. It allows us to dedicate the entire building to the guests that are hosting their special day,” said Guiliani.

The venue’s industrial architecture, large event spaces and central location have long made it one of the region’s premier event destinations. The change to Clyde Iron Events & Weddings reflects both the current reality of the business and its vision for the future.

While public dining and brewery operations will conclude on Oct. 10, private events already booked will continue uninterrupted, and the organization is actively expanding its event offerings for 2026 and beyond.

The announcement also comes during an exciting period for Duluth’s hospitality industry, with Clyde Hotel, a nine-room boutique hotel expected to open in the near future. Together, the two properties will help strengthen Clyde Park as a destination for visitors, weddings, conferences and events.

“We’re excited about the future,” said Giuliani. “Clyde has always been a place where people come together.”
