The City of Duluth will host an informational public meeting to discuss the beginning of the first phase of construction of the West Superior Street reconstruction. The meeting is expected to last one hour and will allow attendees an opportunity to learn about the construction schedule and any traffic and pedestrian traffic impacts. Attendees will also get an opportunity to ask project engineers and contractors questions.
The West Superior Street reconstruction project is a complete reconstruction of West Superior Street, including the road surface and underground utilities, between Carlton and West Michigan Streets. Construction is expected to begin in May in the West Superior Street/West Michigan Street intersection. The project is anticipated to be completed in 2028.
A project website, westsuperiorstreet.com, is now available to the public to provide project updates, the final design, and a map that will be updated with current closures, detour routes, and parking locations in the area.
The City also has a web subscription for the West Superior Street project that allows the public to sign up to receive meeting invitations, weekly updates, traffic control changes and other project information. Sign up for those updates at duluthmn.gov/web_subscriptions/.
