Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center Celebrates 48 Years of Service with TwoOpportunities to Support Survivors

Your Family Photo Can Save Lives.

Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center is marking its 48th birthday month with two community-centered events designed to celebrate survivors, raise awareness about domestic violence, and invite the community to support Safe Haven’s mission.

For nearly five decades, Safe Haven has provided safety, space to heal, advocacy and empowerment for survivors of domestic violence. This year’s birthday celebration highlights both the resilience of survivors and the power of community partnership.

Event 1: 48th Birthday Celebration & One in Four Beer Release
March 20 • Earth Rider Brewery’s Cedar Lounge | 5-7 pm

Safe Haven is once again teaming up with CASDA and Earth Rider Brewery for a special birthday celebration and the release of the 2026 One in Four collaboration beer — a Pineapple-Infused Superior Pale Ale brewed to raise awareness about domestic violence.

The evening will feature live music from Misisipi Mike, Earth Rider favorites on tap, and the debut of the 2026 One in Four beer. Staff from Safe Haven and CASDA will be on site with resources and information for anyone seeking support or wanting to learn more about domestic violence prevention.

Guests can also round up their tab at the Cedar Lounge on May 20, with proceeds split among the Twin Ports’ three domestic violence shelters.

Event 2: A Photo Experience Supporting Safe Haven
NOW through March 31

Safe Haven is partnering with VACANVA to offer a unique way to support survivors while
creating lasting memories. Through March 31, community members can make a $99+
donation to Safe Haven via VACANVA’s website and receive:

  • Up to 90-minute portrait session
  • A complimentary 16×20 mounted print of their favorite image
  • A full year to schedule the photo session
  • Options to purchase additional prints or digital files

This opportunity is perfect for families, graduates, or anyone wanting a professional portrait
experience while directly supporting Safe Haven’s work.

How It Works
Step 1: Make your donation to Safe Haven via the QR code or VACANVA link.
Step 2: Complete a Zoom design consultation with a VACANVA designer, who will help
schedule your photo session.
Step 3: After your session, select your favorite portraits — all artwork ships directly to your
home.

“Providing hope and healing to survivors is only possible because of the generosity of our
community,” said Carin Skoog, Safe Haven’s Director of Philanthropy. “Whether you join us at
an event, donate for a photo session, or simply help spread the word, your support truly
makes a difference.”

Safe Haven invites the community to attend the March 20 celebration, participate in the
VACANVA photo fundraiser, or support in whatever way feels meaningful.
